You can't always be lucky with the weather, has been the motto of this day. Until now, it went so well on every trip, that couldn't stay like this forever - and unfortunately just on our hike up the highest mountain in Korea, , for which we flew here especially. To get up there, you have to reserve slots - a maximum of 300 people are allowed to enter the hike up the mountain at the same time. Our slot was at 6 o'clock, because all the others were full.
So we get up at 5:30 and drive 45 minutes by bus to the foot of the "Seongpanak Hike". Here it was already very foggy and gray. 30 minutes after the start we started - the next 10 hours it rained uninterruptedly like from buckets. The path quickly turned into a flowing stream to run up and on ¾ of the way up it was even so bad that we were not allowed to continue running, but stayed in a middle hut and were asked down again due to flood danger. Up to 1500/1900 meters we came. View would not have given it because of clouds and rain above eh, I would have pulled through nevertheless quite gladly. The rest of the evening we had spent in the hotel with dry blow-drying the soaked equipment, so that we could use this tomorrow again to some extent. At least nothing electronic broke.
